Margo Hernandez, 71, of Wagner passed away peacefully Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Margo’s Life will be Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner. Inurnment will be in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

This is not the first time that WCS has had an online student news; the first was created in 2019. Tera Koupal is the teacher of the broadcasting class that is producing the student news. Tera is in charge of all the classroom work and splits any out of the classroom work with fellow teacher, Libby Renbarger.
Read moreTera Koupal was named girls’ basketball lower-level Region 5-8 Coach of the Year for the 20232024 season. When asked how she felt when she first heard that she won Coach of the Year, Tera said she was excited to be a part of adding some positive publicity for the Wagner Community. It is also a testament to her seventh and eighth grade girls’ basketball teams in how they carry themselves, how they represent Wagner and how they respect the game of basketball. Coach Koupal had a fun group of girls to work with this season and assistant coach, Courtney Mach has been a great addition to the middle school girls’ basketball program.

Read moreThe Wagner Red Raiders fell 16-1 to the Castlewood Warriors in the first game of the tournament. Brylie Link led the way with the only hit of the game bringing in one run. Aubrey Kazena and Sydney Cournoyer both walked once for the Red Raiders. Mara Wright was in the circle for Wagner, striking out one and walking six.
