MEYER NAMED FOOTBALL CLASS 9B ALL-AMERICAN

The list officially came out of the South Dakota High School football players receiving All-State and All-American honors in November. On that list was Aziah Meyer. Not only was he named to the 9B All-State football team, but was also awarded the title of South Dakota Class 9B All-American. It is quite an honor to be named a South Dakota football All-American, as there is only one player chosen from each football class.

LADY THUNDER BASKETBALL TEAM NOW 4-0

In their final game before the New Year, the Lady Thunder continued their undefeated season with a big win against Irene-Wakonda's Eagles. AC/DC held a 23 point advantage going into the third quarter, adding 21 points in the third, and slowing down in the fourth quarter with an additional 5 points, ending the game up by 35 with a final score of 66-31. Leading the team was Mahpiya Irving with 30 points. Josie Brouwer contributed 14 points and 9 rebounds. Halle Olson added 11 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. AC/DC shot 44% from the floor, hitting 23-52 field goals, compared to Irene-Wakonda's 28%. AC/DC had 9 turnovers, while Irene-Wakonda had 20. The Thunder is now 4-0, with their next matchup in Centerville against the Tornadoes on January 6.
