WAGNER FIRST GRADE TOURS THE HOSPITAL

National Hospital Week was celebrated May 13-17. In recognition of this week, approximately 64 Wagner Community School first graders toured the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera on May 16th. The students toured different departments, including Physical Therapy; Clinic; Laboratory; Radiology and the Emergency Room. Students were able to see how these departments can help patients and were able communicate with medical staff in Sioux Falls through E-Emergency services. At the completion of the tour, students were given a treat bag. The tour was conducted by Connie Kaufman with the assistance of hospital staff, along with hospital auxiliary members Joann Winckler, Pearl Weber, Jeanette Fuchs and Jeanette Doom

WAGNER COMPETES AT PLATTE 'LAST CHANCE' MEET

On Thursday, May 16, Wagner’s thin clads traveled to Platte to compete in the “Last Chance” meet as regions are no longer a thing as now the top 24 times, distances, heights, go on to the state meet in each class.

On Monday, May 13, Wagner took its track and field teams to Alexandria to compete in their invitational track meet.

STATE QUALIFIERS

Wagner has qualified eleven different athletes for the South Dakota State Track and Field meet to be held at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls May 23-25. Below are those eleven with the event(s) they are qualified in and their current standing in the event. The top 24 times, heights, and distances entered in each event qualified for this meet.

TRIANGULAR AT TYNDALL

On Thursday May 9th, the Wagner Red Raiders traveled to Tyndall for a triangular with Avon and Bon Homme. In the first match-up the Red Raiders took on the Avon Lady Pirates. They started out with a lead in the top of the first, but were not able to hold on and fell to Avon, 4-19.

2ND ANNUAL WAGNER AREA CO-ED VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT WINNERS

The Wagner Area Co-Ed volleyball league was started two years ago with the intent to bring adults in the community and surrounding communities together to compete, have fun, and remain active. I think this league has done all of that.
