A reminder about library closures in case of bad weather, since it looks like we may get a winter storm this week. If the Andes Central School District does not have school the Lake Andes Public Library will also be closed. If the school closes early the library will also close early. Check the Lake Andes Carnegie Public Library Face Book page as we will post closures on that site, or call the library phone at 605 487-7524.

A ribbon cutting and open house was held on Friday, December 9, to celebrate the improvements to the recently remodeled and relocated insurance office at 118 S Main. Frei Insurance Agency moved into the offices earlier this year and has been conducting business there since January 3, 2022.

The Avon Oral Interp Team competed at the 113th SDHSAA State Oral Interpretation Festival December 2 and 3rd in Mitchell. The following students received Superior rankings and gold medals: Ashley Tolsma (humorous), Kate Swier (storytelling), Sarah and Kate Swier (duet), and Sarah Swier (serious). The Avon team was also awarded a Class B Team Excellence award.
