SOUTHEAST ELITE RESULTS

The Southeast Elite took on the Freeman Rebels Wednesday. In Game one, the Elite took a 14-3 win. The Elite scored one run in the first when Sidney Johnson walked, stole second, and then scored on a series of wild pitches. In the second, the Elite scored three runs on a two out rally. Lydia Lane started with a walk. Sydney and Harper reached on errors. Ashley Soukup andWhitleyWolfreachedon an error and walked scoring one. Charlie Paulsen and Whitley followed with singles each scoring a run. In the 3rd Ashley reached on another error and advanced to 3rd where she was driven in on a groundout by Charli. In the 4th, the Elite scored two more on a couple of hits bySydneyandMacyHaynes. The Elite ended up adding 5 more in the fifth on a series of walks and errors. Harper Kracht went the distance, striking out 6 in four innings of work.

WAGNER COMMUNITY SCHOOL PARTICIPATES IN THE 2024 OCEAN DAKOTAS INSTITUTE LOCATED ALONG NEW ENGLAND COASTLINE

Six Wagner students along with 14 teachers from across SD and ND participated in the 2024 Ocean Dakotas Institute along the New England Atlantic Coast in June. It was sponsored by the Wagner Community School through NOAA Ocean Exploration and run by Spencer Cody of the Edmunds County School district in SD. The institution focuses on educating students and teachers about ocean life and, most importantly, job opportunities involving marine science.

SESSIONS BY THE LAKE TO RETURN TO WAGNER IN AUGUST

“Sessions By The Lake” will once again return to the park at Wagner Lake beginning with the first of three follow up concerts to the “605 Unity Jam”. The first concert is on Thursday, August 1 starting at 6:30 and ending at 8:30. This concert series is a continuation of the unity message presented at the “Unity Jam” that was held in June at the Wagner Lake. A total of three different concerts will be held on the first three Thursday’s in August.

President Jordan Weber presided over his first regular meeting of his Rotary Year by leading the members in prayer. Guests of Jeff Doom were Amy Doom and his mother Jeanette. Kristina Ymker was a guest of Amanda Bechen. The members sang ROTARY and then there was a moment of silence for Jerry Barnett.
