He was born in Wagner May 9, 1951, to Mike and Hattie (Podzimek) Krsnak, graduated from Wagner High School in May of 1969 and South Dakota State University (SDSU) on May 9, 1973. He was in ROTC and went on to work full time for the South Dakota National Guard in Rapid City for 32 years, retiring on February 7, 2007.
