SATURDAY STORMS BRINGS HEAVY RAIN

A thunderstorm moved in Saturday evening bringing heavy rainfalls with reports received of up to 2.8 inches. With all the rain recived in the area water levels quickly rose at Wagner Lake and the rural area had several fields with standing water which will delay farmers who haven't planted their crops yet. MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM CANCELLED

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion organizations in Wagner have decided to cancel the annual Memorial Day Program. In light of the fact that the majority of those who attend the program are in the high risk for infection category, it was determined that it isn’t worth the risk of infecting those veterans and their families.

Brenda (Bucholz) Jennings, 59, died Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home in Bancroft. A private family service was held May 16 at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet. Burial followed at Le- Sueur Cemetery, rural Bancroft.

Due to current health concerns, private funeral services for Dale A. Petrik, 55, of Wagner were held Friday, May 1 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wagner. The service was streamed and may be viewed at the St. John Lutheran Church youtube channel. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner.
