Part of the Open House celebration at our new location was the sign up for “1000 Books Before Kindergarten “but the library will take sign ups anytime. This may sound like a lot of books but if you read 1 book each day that is 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in 2 years and 1095 books in three years. If you consider that most children don’t start kindergarten until 5 years of age, you have more time than you think to get started.

Nancy Meyer, age 68, of Toronto, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 as result of a car accident. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th at Leganger Lutheran Church in Toronto. Burial will be at the Toronto City Cemetery. Houseman Funeral Home of Clear Lake, is entrusted with the arrangements.

National School Board recognition week is February 20th -24th. It is a time when the community, Avon school staff and parents can take the time to thank the members of the local school board for their time and dedication to make their school a better place.
