WCS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY

By Alyssa Mathis The Wagner High School National Honor Society (NHS) held their annual new member induction ceremony on Tuesday, March 19th in the Wagner Community School theater. The ceremony began with the welcome given by senior member and NHS President, Jennifer Barnett. Jennifer also introduced the speaker for the event, Joe Kafka, WCS teacher. After Mr. Kafka gave a very meaningful speech, the current 2023-2024 officers began the candle induction ceremony. Each of the senior members came onto the stage, and each spoke during the candle induction ceremony.

ANDES CENTRAL FFA CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENT STATE QUALIFIERS

Andes Central FFA traveled to Redfield on March 1st for the first Career Development Event (CDE) competition of the season. At this competition the Horse Judging team made up of Riata Bultje, Marin Bultje and Callie Bergin finished third as a team and qualified for the state CDE competition. It was an excellent first competition for the team followed by a 4th place team finish in the next competition at Bridgewater-Emery on March 11th. Here is a little bit more about the three members of the Horse Judging team and what their event all entails.

ELAINE WOOD

Elaine Martha Wood, 87, formerly of Lake Andes, passed away peacefully at her home in Springtown, Texas December 14, 2023. Elaine was born December 20, 1935 in Lake Andes to Charles Stedronsky Jr. and Josephine (Dolejsi) Stedronsky. She was the youngest of eight children and the last to pass of her siblings.
