A graveside service for John Ray Parker, 67, of Lake Andes, with a motorcycle send off will be held Thursday, September 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Andes. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner is in charge of arrangements. If anyone will need a seat please bring a chair. Following the service there will be a gathering at the Duck Inn.

John Ray Parker was born in Wagner December 30, 1956, the son of Clifford B. And Tillie (Rohrback) Parker. He passed away peacefully from complications of heart disease Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston.

John graduated from Andes Central High School in 1976. He worked for the City of Lake Andes, Charles Mix County and later Douglas County. He spent the majority of his life driving truck. He hauled hogs, cars and hay. John retired at age 65 while working for Douglas County.

John was a member of South Central A.B.A.T.E. He will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and the Green Bay Packers.

John is survived by his brother Ray “Moe” (Mary Jo) Parker of Lake Andes, one niece, one nephew, and four grand nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dwane (Rosemary) Parker and his special friend, Christina Seifert.
