DENNIS STREYLE JR.

Dennis “Billy Bob” Clement Streyle Jr., 34 of Huron, passed away unexpectedly December 28, 2023.

Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a 3 p.m. memorialservice,Saturday, January 20 in the Scotland High School gymnasium.

DennywasborntoDennis and Carol Streyle January 30, 1989, at the Scotland Hospital. He graduated from ScotlandHighSchoolin2007 where he was active in FFA and 4-H. He also attended Mitchell Tech. After school he worked a few jobs as a farm hand around the Scotland, Delmontarea.Hefound great pride when he joined the Delmont Volunteer Fire Department. He then moved to Huron to start Billy Bob’s Sales,Service,andAuctions.

He was known by his family as Denny and his friends all knew him as Billy Bob. Denny was a soft-hearted, kind, loving, big ol’ teddy bear who would do almost anything for his family and friends. He was always there to help someone, whenever he was able, for little more than a thank you. From a very young age, he latched on to the “western” way of life. He had a strong passion for his family, farming (especially John Deere) and rodeo. His rodeo passion especially showed during the Wagner rodeo when he was helpinghisgoodfriend,John Havranek. He always had a smile on his face when he was riding Lilly, his Belgin/ Clydesdale or helping Jace and Tate with their horses and taking care of his critters. Hewasverywellknown for wearing many different hats, both literally and figuratively. His love for being on the mic showed through whether he was singing his favorite song for someone, doing karaoke in a red glittery wig while doing the Macarena, or his self-taught auctioneer chant. When it came to the auctioneering, he could sell ice cubes to an Eskimo. His volunteering spirit would show through by giving barrel train rides to the kids. For the holidays, he loved to dress up in his Santa suit and go anywhere he could to hand out gifts or just put a smile on someone’s face, be it a child or adult. He would even dress up as the Easter Bunny! He always had a plan to make something work. He enjoyed tinkering with motors and getting things to run again, anythingfromaweedeaterto a hot rod riding lawn mower he could pop a wheelie on, or fixing what he, and his best friend, Fred Settje, would break while mud and snow boggin’ or at the truck pulls. Denny also held a very special place in his heart for his kindergarten teacher, Peggy Fridrick and kept in touch withherafteralltheseyears.

He is survived by his father, Dennis Streyle Sr. of Scotland; longtime companion, Kristen Murry and her sons,JaceandTateofHuron; sisters,Becky(Josh)Winther of Echo, MN and Heidi (Richard Kludt)ofLesterville, and brother, Scott (Emily Christensen) Streyle of Scotland.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Streyle; niece, Carolyn; grandparents, Clem and MaryAnn KloucekandErvinandHulda Streyle; several aunts and uncles and other family.
