John Fathke has been a part of the cross country team since 6th grade. John Fathke is the son of Jed and Maureen Fathke, and the brother of Jack Fathke. When we asked John how he feels about this being his last homecoming he replied, “pretty good.” Our next question for John was, “What is your favorite part about cross country meets?' He said, “Finishing them.” We then asked John how he thinks the rest of the season will go and he replied, “Good, if we push ourselves.” John's hype up song he listens to before meets is Shotta Flow Five by NLE Choppa. Lastly, John's favorite thing about homecoming week are the dress up days.

Read moreThe Red Raiders hosted Mount Vernon for their Homecoming on Friday, September 13th and took a tough loss with a final score of 6-36. Red Raiders couldn’t get the ball rolling from the start. A couple bright spots from the game were Senior Captain and Homecoming King Hunter Lhotak’s Rushing TD late in the 4th quarter, as well as Carlos Galindo’s early interception. Galindo who normally is on the stat sheet as a receiver, stepped up in the Quarter Back position. He was able to connect through the air with multiple Red Raiders. Frank Soukup, Shea Kjeldgaard, and Slaten Podzimek all with multiple receptions on the night. Multiple Raiders were asked to step up and play different positions on the night. We are proud of the way our athletes filled these roles.
