Read moreSophomore McKenna Kocmich and Freshman Trevor Eggers recently competed in the Region Golf Meet at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, Tuesday May 26th. Kocmich, who ended the regular season with a 9th place finish in the Avon/Bon Homme Varsity Invite at Springfield Golf Course, also finished in 9th place at the Region Meet to qualify for the SD Class B High School State Golf Tournament at Heart Ranch Golf Course in Rapid City. The State Tournament will be played on June 6th and 7th. Great job this season golfers and good luck at state McKenna!
Read moreAvon teeners opened their season hosting Freeman on Sunday May 22. Avon was held to four hits and three runs by experienced Freeman pitching, coming off of spring baseball. Leading hitters for Avon were Aziah Meyer and Trace Pelton with one hit each, Christian Doom hit a double and a single. John Fathke and Tyler Tjeerdsma each scored. Pitching for Avon were Landon Thury, Noah Watchorn, Devin Rucktaeschel, Christian Doom, and Tyler Tjeerdsma. Final score was 8-3 in favor of Freeman.
