Funeral services for James Frey, 79, of Avon will be Saturday, January 27 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Avon. Burial will be in the Trinity Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Avon. For the holidays, he loved to dress up in his Santa suit and go anywhere he could to hand out gifts or just put a smile on someone’s face, be it a child or adult. He would even dress up as the Easter Bunny! He always had a plan to make something work. He enjoyed tinkering with motors and getting things to run again, anythingfromaweedeaterto a hot rod riding lawn mower he could pop a wheelie on, or fixing what he, and his best friend, Fred Settje, would break while mud and snow boggin’ or at the truck pulls. Denny also held a very special place in his heart for his kindergarten teacher, Peggy Fridrick and kept in touch withherafteralltheseyears.
