Fire Prevention/Safety Week was observed this past October 3rd - 9th. This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign was “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” It works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make.

Fall always puts me in a literary mood, perhaps because the South Dakota Festival of Books is held in late September or early October. I relish the opportunity to listen to writers discuss their books and always leave inspired to work on new projects.

The Midwest Honor Flight flies again after almost two years. The Midwest Honor Flight headed to Washington, D.C. Saturday, September 18th to visit the memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and to fellow Veterans.
Read moreThe LifeServe Blood Center blood drive sponsored by Wagner High School on Monday, September 27th, had a fantastic turn-out! 30 donors registered and 29 units of life saving blood was donated. Thank you to everyone that came out to help boost the LOCAL blood supply! The units donated at the blood drive can help save up to 87 lives! A special thanks to Charlene Soukup and the Wagner High School National Honor Society for sponsoring and hosting the blood drive.
