This holiday season, LifeServe Blood Center is urging families in South Dakota to come together and create a new and meaningful tradition: donating blood as a family to save lives in their communities. LifeServe Blood Center is the lifeline for more than 160 hospitals primarily in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Hospitals in your community have chosen LifeServe as their sole provider of blood and blood products, meaning that when you donate blood with LifeServe, you can save lives in your neighborhood. As a community-based blood center, LifeServe only hosts blood drives in the communities where that blood will go back into the area hospitals.
Read moreThis week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Carlin Hopkins. Carlin is the son of Charles and Tracey Hopkins. Carlin has three siblings that also attend Andes Central: Adura, Mila and Finnegan. During his high school years, Carlin has been involved in both football and wrestling for four years, track for a year, band, marching band, chorus and All-State Chorus. For community service, he has been a part of picking up trash around Lake Andes. Walking tacos is Carlin’s favorite school lunch and his favorite high school teacher is Mrs. Maynard. Mrs. Maynard is a very caring teacher who has a vast amount of patience with her students.

The library has shelved all our puzzle collection and we have puzzles for all ages. Putting together a puzzle at the library is a possibility, or they can be checked out for a two-week period.

Read moreOn Monday, November 13, seven WCS students made their way to Chamberlain to participate in the Region Oral Interpretation Contest, where the team took 1st place! Jennifer Barnett, Trenton Rolston, Jackson Rolston, Presley Slaba, Macee Stimpson, Jessica Barnett, and Taya Stone have practiced, worked hard, and performed their hearts out for the last couple of months preparing for Monday, as they attempted to vie their way to the state competition.
