Wagner Rotary Club met Wednesday, June 22 with President Bryan Slaba announcing that he has only two meetings left to preside over. Honored guests were Christina Ymker courtesy of Bechen & Company.
Read moreAmerican Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on June 16th, 2022 at the Post Home with 28 members in attendance. Ken and Mary Cotton were also in attendance as were Camden Roth and Paige Anderson who introduced by our Americanism Officer, Don Kotab. Camden and Paige both gave a brief thank you for the scholarships the Post had awarded them. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for the outstanding meal. Sharon Haar also thanked the Post and will make a sizeable donation from the memorials she received from Harris Haar’s passing. She is also donating the commemorative gun Harris had won a few years ago back to the Post for a raffle with the proceeds to be given to the Honor Flight Program. Commander Clayton Rados then called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

Great Grandparents are the late Nita and Arthur Breen of Lake Andes.

Read moreThe 2022 South Dakota Republican Party Convention was held on June 23-25, 2022 at Watertown, SD with 687 delegates attending from across the state. Thirteen delegates from Charles Mix represented the people of Charles Mix County. Ivan and Lois Van Dusseldorp attended as the county chairman and vice county chairwoman. Also from Platte, Junior and Cherry Van Dusseldorp attended as state committeeman and state committeewoman. Jeff and Jolene Stewart from Wagner represented Precinct 1. Mark Sip from Geddes represented Precinct 2. Also from Platte David Spier represented Precinct 9, Tom Travis and Trudy Qualm represented Precinct 10, John Steckly represented precinct 11, and Cole Anderson and Lee Qualm were delegates at large.
Read moreStedronsky is a Veteran of the Korean War, having been drafted in March of 1951. He felt that he was very lucky to have been drafted with three others from the Wagner area, Don Barta, Bob Mcquire, and Norm Woods. He attended basic training at Camp Gordon in Georgia and Camp Cooke in California. Stedronsky then received his specialty training as a cryptographer or code worker at Fort Myers in Virginia. He became a member of the Signal Core, which was a non-combat unit.
