The Library Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 at the Library. It is open to the public. If you plan to attend, please wear a mask. The board will be discussing and voting on a plan for opening to follow during a pandemic, grants that have been applied for by the library, 2020 Census promotion, new employee, and state library conference attendance.

LOCAL COWGIRLS COMPETE AT JIMMI ROSE MEMORIAL

The annual Jimmi Rose Memorial Barrel Race was held in Huron on August 22. Local cowgirls attending were Joni, Dusti and Aspen Laska. Along with added jackpot money, average prizes were awarded on times accumulated from two separate runs for the day.

DREAMS COMING TRUE FOR WAYNE SCHERR

Many of us as kids had dreams of what we wanted to do when we grew up. At a very young age Wayne Scherr had dreams of having a horse in the Kentucky Derby and that dream is becoming reality on September 5th as a horse he co-owns with Raymond Daniels, Necker Island, a 3-year old colt, is set to compete in the 2020 Kentucky Derby. This is the first race horse with a South Dakota or North Dakota owner that has ever competed in this event.
