SWEET CLOVER 4-H NEWS

The Sweet Clover 4-H club met on Nov 5, 2023 at 6pm. The DustinBrandtfamilyhosted.Treasure CarmindyFerwerda called the meeting to order. Flag Pledges were led by Cowan Wolf. Roll call topic was 'What's your favorite candy?' & 7 members were present. The secretary's report was given by Whitley Wolf. Hailey Brandt motioned to approve the report,secondedbyHoytBrandt.Thetreasurer'sreportwas given by Carmindy. Hailey motioned to approve the report, seconded by Colt Wolf. Old business was discussion on how the Awards Banquet went along with a reminder to sign up for 4-H for the coming year. New business was the motion to purchase poinsettias for the Christmas season. Hailey motioned it with a second by Hoyt. Next meeting is Dec 3, 2023 at 6:00 with a $10 Christmas gift exchange. Motion to adjourn by Colt, seconded by Hailey. After the meeting, we made 9 tie-blankets to give to Our Home in Parkston for Christmas presents.

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Wednesday,November29attheScotlandCommunityChurch at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. The date is changed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

TheAvonHighSchool(AHS) heldtheirannualVeteran’sDay Program Wednesday, November 8, at 2:45 p.m. The program began with the posting of the colorsbyMeganGretschmann and Kate Swier. The National Anthem was led by Rick Hurd, followedbytheAvonAmerican Legion Commander, Kenny Powers leading the room in the Pledge of Allegiance. Superintendent and Veteran, Tom Culver, gave the program welcome.
