This week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Carlin Hopkins. Carlin is the son of Charles and Tracey Hopkins. Carlin has three siblings that also attend Andes Central: Adura, Mila and Finnegan. During his high school years, Carlin has been involved in both football and wrestling for four years, track for a year, band, marching band, chorus and All-State Chorus. For community service, he has been a part of picking up trash around Lake Andes. Walking tacos is Carlin’s favorite school lunch and his favorite high school teacher is Mrs. Maynard. Mrs. Maynard is a very caring teacher who has a vast amount of patience with her students.

Read moreAvon High School Junior, Aziah Meyer, was named the Most Valuable Player from the Class 9B State Championship game against the Faulkton Area Trojans November 9th. Aziah is the son of Jamey Meyer and Alvin Gunter. Aziah’s love for the game started in third grade when he first began playing football after his mom, Jamey, signed him up. He has been playing the game ever since.

This year’s bookwasTheGrinchWhoLost Christmas by Alastair Heim. Library board member, Julie Minow, read the story. Julie was chosen to read the story because it was her idea for the Grinch themed event.
