Students and staff at Andes Central were invited to read books with a Native American theme and/or written by an Indigenous author during November in honor of Native American Heritage Month. After reading, students completed an entry slip which included writing a sentence sharing what they thought about each book. Participants gathered in the school library last Friday for the drawing of prizes. In total, 36 people joined the reading challenge and read 115 Native books.

Read moreRapid City hosted the 2023 State FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) competition. State qualifier, Riata Bultje, her sister, Emery Bultje and FFA advisor, Darren DeNeui, traveled to Rapid City December 3-4 to attend the competition. Riata competed in the Prepared Public Speaking with her presentation about the benefits of incorporating soil health practices into farm work. Although she did not place in the top eight in her event, the three had great experience.
