They are an experienced team that brought back everyone from a year ago that won 15 games throughout the season. We played with some jitters early but thought I we responded well, especially being on the road. We do need to clean up our passing in the full court and half court. Winner shot nearly 20 more times than we did due to our turnovers and the offensive boards they got. On our possessions in the first half where we turned it over we didn’t get shots in transition and turned it over instead. All learning experiences and now we move on to the next game!”
Read moreChase the Ace, a fundraiser sponsored by the Wagner Activities Council is a new organization that started last year. The organization is similar to a student council for the schools events and activities. They help plan the dress up themes, come up with ideas to involve the student body and community among other things that help out with activities. The council is currently raising money to purchase Lettermans jackets for any Wagner student that participates in an activity in each of the 3 seasons through their first 2 years of high school. Student athletes need to finish an activity in the fall, winter and spring of their first 2 years of high school. The Chase the Ace fundraiser started in the winter of last school year, the Activities Council created a board with 54 cards on it and each card is numbered. When people purchase a raffle ticket for $2 they write their name and the number of the card they think is the Ace of hearts. If their ticket gets drawn, they cut out the number they guessed, if it is the Ace of hearts, they win the pot. If it is not, they win 10% of what was sold that evening, and the pot grows until the Ace is found.
