BOYS & GIRLS CLUB BASKETBALL SEASON ENDS

The Boys & Girls Club of the Missouri River Area, Wagner Unit recently finished their 3rd and 4th grade basketball season. We had 20 girls participate, with volunteer coaches Tana Langdeau, Laura Wright and Stacy Holzbauer. We had 18 boys participate, with volunteer coaches Derrick Marks and Zyan Zephier. They participated in a few local games and played in the Avon Jamboree playing teams from Avon, Marty and Bon Homme. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication this season. We appreciate all the volunteer coaches and parents for helping to make this program a success.

WEEK 8 UPDATES OF LEGISLATIVE SESSION

The 95th session of the South Dakota Legislature is nearly over with 4 days left this next week and veto day which is the 30th of March. The final week will be very busy, as this week was, while we get through all the remaining Senate bills. The budgets for FY 20 and FY 21 are nearing completion and by the closeout of session, with negotiations between House, Senate and the Governor’s office, we will leave Pierre with a balanced budget.

THUNDER SEASON COMES TO AN END

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian boys basketball team came ready to play for Region action as they took the court against Kimball/White Lake on Monday, March 2nd. This was a game that will be talked about for a long time. The Thunder team left everyone feeling very proud as the buzzer sounded. The score may have had them down by 1 point at the end, but they won in the hearts of many as they took everything they learned all season and played an absolutely amazing game.
