Carol Ann Durham, 83, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, September 17 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center. Funeral service and visitation was Friday, September 20 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Lake Andes. Burial was at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Geddes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes.

Carol Ann Durham was born July 11, 1941 to Helen Honomichl. In 1959, she gained a step dad in Paul Kietzmann. Carol attended Wagner High School and graduated in 1959. After high school, she went on to cosmetology school in Sioux Falls. She was united in marriage to Mervin Durham on April 14, 1964 in Lake Andes. She was a cosmetologist for over 20 years in Lake Andes and then from 1991 to the end of 2013 was a secretary for the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s office. In addition, from the mid 70’s to the mid 80’s, Carol kept track of/managed the numerous businesses Mervin collected over those years, including the drive-in theatre, downtown theater, the bowling alley, and the cafe in Lake Andes. Oh, and don’t forget, she stayed busy helping on the farm also. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to rummage sales and auctions but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Tom and his wife Trish Durham of Vermillion; two granddaughters, Paige and Bailey; a great-granddaughter, Lorelei; and a brother, Jerry Kietzmann of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Kietzmann and husband, Mervin.
