A Celebration Of Life funeral mass for Leonard Kocer, 64, of Wagner, was held Tuesday, August 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Inurnment was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Leonard Alan Kocer was born November 27, 1959 in Wagner, the son of Romaine and Helen (Schoch) Kocer. He died Wednesday, August 21, at the Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center due to an automobile accident near Pukwana.

Lenny graduated from Wagner High School in 1978. He was well known throughout South Dakota and Nebraska as an iron buyer who put on a million miles in his work. Lenny lived a colorful life and always was getting into mischief. He loved to play poker and visit casinos. He will be remembered as a really good grandpa and loved having ice cream with the grandkids.

Thankful for having shared his life are his daughter, Micki (Jose) Gallegos of North Little Rock, AR; two sons: Alen Kocer of Sioux Falls and Rhian Kocer of Chicago, IL; four brothers: Bill Kocer of Wagner, Paul (Susan) Kocer of Ft. Morgan, CO, Steven (Donna) Kocer of Chamberlain, and Romaine (Barb) Kocer of Sturgis; seven grandkids and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lenny was preceded in death by his parents, Romaine and Helen Kocer; brother, Chuck Kocer; niece, Haley Reiser; paternal grandparents, Tom and Clara Kocer; and maternal grandparents, Ludwig and Katherine Schoch.
