Funeral services for Patricia Lynn Rouse, 58, of Wagner were held Wednesday, June 26 at Marty Community Center. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Lynn Blacksmith Rouse was born May 11, 1965 in Flandreau to parents Clement Blacksmith and Shirley Huapapi Blacksmith. Patty died Saturday, June 22, 2024 at her home in Wagner. She attended school in Flandreau and received her G.E.D. in 1981 then returned home to Greenwood where she then met Duane Rouse Jr. and had her five children: Timothy Rouse Sr., Thomas Rouse, Duane Rouse III (Yamni), twins Roderick Rouse Jr. and Rio Rouse. Patricia loved life. She was the most loyal woman around and always took care of everyone and the children. In 1993, she then married the love of her life Roderick Rouse Sr. and was given another son Joshua Rouse Sr. Patricia was always smiling, free spirited, kind, and generous.

Patricia worked at the Fort Randall Casino, Gus Stop, and as a caretaker and provider for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She loved and she loved hard. Patty fought hard for four years with her Stage Four Lung Can-cer. She was strong, so strong and never lost her faith. She instilled love and belief to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her father Clement Blacksmith Sr.; brother Clement Blacksmith Jr.; grandparents Herbert and Eva Huapapi; granddaughter Anneliese Fobb; uncles: Johnny, Bert, and Albert Huapapi; and aunties Debbie Craft and Margie Huapapi Blaine She leaves behind her companion Roderick Rouse Sr.; mother Shirley Blacksmith; sister Sheila Blacksmith; and children Josh and Samantha (5), Timothy (7), Thomas (5), Yamni (3), RJ (8), and Rio (9).
