Carol Mae Tomic, 80, went to her heavenly home Monday, July 22 at Avera St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston. There will be a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes at a later time.

Carol was born September 6, 1943 to Joseph and Josephine (Pesicka) Tomic in Charles Mix County. She attended country school near Lake Andes. He was united in marriage to James Birger. To this union, two children, Connie and Sandy, were born. The couple made their home on a farm near Lake Andes where they operated the farm together. Carol loved her animals, especially her dogs, cats, cows, pigs and chickens. She enjoyed drawing, coloring and painting.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Connie (Edward) Coulter-Welch of Cheyenne, WY and Sandy Goldapp of Redman, OR; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
