Read moreOn Monday, September 18, The Wagner Cross Country team traveled to Bon Homme to compete in their annual cross-country competition. The Wagner Cross Country team held strong and did a fine job at this meet. The hills were fierce but it didn’t stop these kids from bringing their best. The results are as follows: (those medaling will have placing beside their time) Girl’s Varsity – 5K Presley Slaba – 24:21 -Nineteenth Place Lydia Yost – 26:53 Boy’s Varsity – 5K Caleb Zephier-20:35 – Seventeenth Place Jackson Rolston-21:47 Vincent Bechen-22:03 Owen Bekanich-28:30 Girl’s JV- 4K Taya Stone – 18:31 – First Place Jenny Barnett-24:23 Boy’s JV – 4K Grady Bartunek-16:47 -Fifth Place Charlie Kocer-17:10-Ninth Place Jason Weston-17:21-Tenth Place Middle School Race – 1.5K Cooper Slaba – 9:05 -Fifth Place Alex Reiter-9:39 – Ninth Place Sean Roberts-12:23 Wyatt Roberts-13:595k (which is 3.1 miles), this course was 3.4 miles. So, when looking at the times in comparison to the rest of the season so far, the times are not comparable, unless taken by minutes per mile. The female runners for the Varsity were Lydia Yost and Presley Slaba. The course was one loop around the golf course and then repeating that same loop. Presley Slaba came in 4th place with a time of 26:24, followed by Lydia Yost in 9th place with a time of 28:21.

Read moreRed Raiders spoiled Scotland/ Menno’s homecoming with a 50-0 win on Friday night moving the record to 4-1 on the season. Defensively the Red Raiders were stout. Holding Scotland to 30 rushing yards and 11 passing yards in a great all around team effort.
Read moreOn September 18th, the Wagner Red Raiders competed at the Competitive Cheer Wagner Invitational. There were three other teams that participated in the invitational, the Platte-Geddes/ Andes Central/Dakota Christian Black Panthers, the Gregory Lady Gorillas and the Winner Area Warriors. Not only was it a cheer competition but also had several dance category competitions. In the Cheer category first place went to Winner, second place to Gregory, third place to Wagner and finishing in fourth place was Platte-Geddes/Andes Central/Dakota Christian. In the Jazz Dance competition first place went to the Platte-Geddes/ Andes Central/Dakota Christian team. For the Hip Hop Dance category Gregory took first place followed by Winner with second. In the final category, Pom Dance Gregory finished first, followed by Platte-Geddes/Andes Central /Dakota Christian and Winner coming in third. The Lady Gorillas won the title of Grand Champion in Dance.

Wagner struggled through the first half of the game with a score of 8 to 20. The second half the Raiders battled back to within 6 points, but unfortunately lost 20 to 26.
