Wagner fell behind early to the Black Panthers on Friday night in Platte and never recovered. Wagner trailed 13-8 after the first period and 31-18 after the second period. The Red Raiders battled back into the game several times in the second half but Platte made some big shots late in the game to defeat Wagner 57-48. Nolan Carda had a big night with 20 points and 13 rebounds, Toby Zephier and Simon Freier each scored 7, Alex Cournoyer and Dustin Honomichl each scored 5 and Marcus Zephier added 4. Platte won the game by outrebounding the Red Raiders by 18.

Karstyn Lhotak, Jhett Breen, Bradyn Lhotak, and Nolan Dvorak will be competing in Rapid City at the state wrestling tournament February 25-27th. Jhett Breen and Bradyn Lhotak both won the Region and look to set themselves up for the state tournament. The team will be leaving Wagner at 8:15 Wednesday morning. Competition starts at 10AM Thursday morning, continuing until Saturday afternoon.

According to Map Quest, Green Bay is 567 miles or an 8 hour 25 minute drive from Mitchell.
