JAG stands for Jobs For America’s Graduates and its mission is to empower the nation’s young people with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment and life. The ceremony was held at 7:30 p.m. in the Andes Central Auxiliary Gym. Syrianna Never Misses A Shot gave the welcome to the event. There was a supper provided by the JAG organization. After the meal, Ignacia Gallegos gave a brief explanation of what the JAG program does and its mission.

Debbie White, activities director at Lake Andes Senior Living, invited students to spend time with residents for their morning activity. She prepared discussion questions for people to use in addition to reading and provided treats for the participants.

The interview includes twelve questions rangingfromcreativeinfluences andpaintinghabitstofamous people he would like to have dinner with and things on his bucket list. The article also displays several beautiful paintings created by Johnny. One of the most interesting questions asked of Johnny was how he would want to be remembered. Swatek’s response was, “More than anything else, I’d like to be remembered as the painter who never stopped learning, who constantly strived to be better and who always gave my clients the memories they were hoping for”.

ALS is a disease which causes motor nerves in the brain and spinal cord to break down. This reduces the nerves ability to control muscle function leading the muscle to weaken, twitch, and waste away. As the disease progresses it slowly impairs the person’s ability to walk, talk, swallow, and breathe.
Read moreThe Avon Swim team held a Football Tailgate supper Friday, September 8th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. before the Avon vs. Gayville -Volin home football game. They served walking tacos, homemade desserts and drinks. It was a free-will donation. Coach Becky Haenfler and the swim team parents appreciate Bryce Voigt for donating the chips for the walking tacos. It was a very successful fundraiser, the team raised almost half of their goal. The teams next fundraiser will be coming up yet this month; they will be selling cookie dough.
