BROOKINGS, South Dakota – A total of 40 members from District Four were awarded their State FFA Degree during the 96th South Dakota FFA Convention, April 18-20, at the Dacotah Bank Center.

The National Education Association describes National Teacher Day “as a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives”. Teachers play such a pivotal role in the daily lives of their students. These kind, hard-working, patient, dedicated and understanding professionals help to guide and mold the children or the community and prepare them for their futures. No matter where a person is in life, a teacher has influenced them. With this being said, it is a pleasure to honor and thank all teachers for their time and dedication to the educate the community’s youth.

Read moreThe South Dakota Council of Administrators of Special Education (SDCASE) recently chose Miss Slaba to be the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding SDCASE Administrator award. Missy started teaching at the Wagner Community School the 2008-2009 school year; this May will mark the end of her 16th year of teaching at WCS. All 16 of those years has been as the WCS Special Education Director. Slaba’s official title is the Special Education Director (B3 services through age 21/district wide).
