Did You Know that a Library can save you money? The Siouxland Libraries of Sioux Falls conducted a Library Card Promotion showing library patrons just how much they can save by borrowing materials for free from the library as opposed to purchasing the same materials. Using the same way to compute savings the Lake Andes Library is saving patrons approximately $4.50 for each book borrowed and a considerable amount for the borrowing of DVDs or magazine subscriptions.

Read moreThree runners from the Andes Central/Dakota Christian Cross Country Team qualified for the State Meet this Saturday at the Heart Ranch Golf Course by Rapid City. The runners in the top twenty at the Region 3B Meet held at the Lake Platte Golf Course on October 14 were Isabella Brouwer in 14th (20:21), Lexi Schoenfelder in 20th (22:39), and Peter Backes 19th in the Boys Race (20:00). For Isabella, now a 10th grader, this is her 4th time making it to the state tournament. Both Lexi, just a 7th grader, and Peter in 9th grade will be running in the State Meet for their first time.
