The library appreciates the individual from our community who donated money to pay for those people who have lost materials from the library, and thus didn’t have use of the computers in the library. We started with paying for the children on our list first and then put the names of all others in a drawing and paid off as many bills as we could with the donated funds. Students earning this recognition must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher in seeking a degree for the term. Aireanna is majoring in the Dental Assisting Program.

We also received blankets which were a wonderful gift from Farm Bureau, made by Sarah Veenstra(District 7 Women’s Committee Director) of New Holland, SD. They are made and donated to give to patients in need.
Read moreFood insecurity has continued to increase in Bon Homme County as those who volunteer with the Feeding SD food distributions have noticed each month, as well as a continued increase in utilization of the Bon Homme Food Pantry. In order to assist individuals and families to have Christmas dinner, or have enough food to feed their children during Christmas vacation from school, members of the Bon Homme Food Pantry board packed Christmas boxes December 8 and delivered the boxes December 9 in the five towns in the county. This year, boxes were packed and delivered to 225 households who had signed up for holiday assistance through the schools; those who receive monthly commodity boxes for the elderly; those who regularly utilize either the Tyndall or Scotland food pantry, and those whose names were submitted to the board as someone who could use some help during the holidays. The number of those needing assistance is definitely increasing--in 2018, the Christmas box delivery assisted 153 households; in 2019, 203 households were assisted

Read moreGreer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting November 19 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Adjutant Rados read the minutes of the November meeting, which were approved with one correction. We will have a oratory contest.

Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.
Read moreThe Wagner boys basketball team got their first win of the season Tuesday night in Irene. The boys started off slow, trailing 11-8 after the first period. Wagner outscored Irene Wakanda 20-9 in the second period to take a 28-20 lead into the half time break. Scoring was even in the third period, the Red Raiders scored 19 to the Eagles 17 making the score 47-37 heading into the final period. Wagner extended their lead to 20 points a few times and won the game by a final score of 65-50. Nolan Carda dominated the paint scoring 18 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Dustin Honomichl added 17 points and 4 rebounds. Toby Zephier scored 13 points and had 4 assists, Chris Nelson scored 7 points, Marcus Zephier added 6, Simon Freier had 2 points and Jaden Peters scored 2 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
