The Wagner/Bon Homme Varsity Gymnasts will be participating at the State Tournament Friday, February 12th in Aberdeen. Those participating at state are: Jenny Barnett, Alcista Dion, Mia Dion, Jenna Duffek,Skye Kotalik, RaeLee Lanphear, Faith Podzimek, Alexys Rueb and Briley Steffensen. The varsity girls will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys varsity game. On Thursday, February 11 the Thunder will host Freeman Academy/Marion at Dakota Christian for Senior Night. Read moreThe Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance and Avon Police Department responded to a structure fire on the Northwest side of Avon Sunday morning. Firefighters were hampered by the frigid temperatures, but were able to keep the fire from spreading to the motel rooms. One of the residents of the building sustained minor injuries.

Read moreU.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide additional assistance through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), expanding eligibility for some agricultural producers and commodities as well as updating payments to accurately compensate some producers who already applied for the program. Producers who are now eligible and those who need to modify existing applications due to these updates can contact USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) between Jan. 19 and Feb. 26. Some of these changes are being made to align with the recently enacted Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 while others are discretionary changes being made in response to ongoing evaluation of CFAP.
