American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on January 21, 2021 with 25 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order Minutes – Adjutant Dave Isebrands read the minutes of our last meeting. Bob Kucera brought up a change to the December minutes stating Bingo will be 12 sessions and not 8 as read. The December minutes will note the change. Minutes with change were approved.

Nicki Sandven is a new addition to the salon and has been a hair stylist for the past ten years. She attended cosmetology school at Headlines Academy of Cosmetology & Massage in Rapid City. Nicki’s past experience includes working as a Core Specialist at the Paul Mitchell School, stylist at Hair It Is Again, stylist at Focus on You Beauty Spa and stylist at Belle Boutique & Salon.

Read moreThe library personnel are busy putting the finishing touches on the new library location. The open house will be Wednesday, February 7th 1:00-7:00. Tours of the building, with refreshments being served will be part of the occasion. We will have door prizes, sign up for programming at the library to start soon, such as 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, classes in using computers and a demonstration on how to use the free on-line e-book consortium “Libby”. Every one who attends will be able to leave with a free book! Drawings for gift cards will also be available. Watch for posters coming soon and pass the word. We hope to see you there.

Read moreNine Bon Homme County 4-H Jr. Leaders went to Pierre January 17th for a day of learningandcivicengagement. They were able to attend part of a House Judiciary Committee meeting and a town hall meeting with District 19 Representative DrewPetersonand House Minority Leader Oren Lesmeister. They also participated in a scavenger hunt around the capitol, attended a Democratic Caucus meeting, and then watched the House work through some of the day's business before heading for home. There was also time for some SDSU ice cream and a photo opportunity with the senators and representatives.
