At the American Legion monthly meeting held Thursday, June 20th, several students from the Wagner Community School were invited to give short presentations after the dinner. Frank Soukup and Carter Smejkal were asked to speak on their experiences at Boys State. Both students said that they really enjoyed their time at Boys State and made some really good friends while being a part of the experience. Carter and Frank said that they would definitely recommend Boys State to the incoming juniors. Daniel Soukup as one of the American Legion scholarship winners was also invited to the dinner before the meeting. Daniel thanked the American Legion for awarding him one of their scholarships and spoke about how he was going to be attending Mitchell Tech this fall where he will receive his associate’s degree as an electrician.
